BIM Manager Position - Tampa Fl

The PBS&J Architecture group seeks an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our Tampa staff as a CAD Designer. In this role you will be involved on projects related to Revit and Bently BIM production for architectural and engineering consultant services. The ideal candidate must be proficient in using Revit, Navisworks, and Bently BIM.

The ideal, motivated candidate can expect to work on a wide variety of projects both large- and small-scale. Typical duties and responsibilities of this position are:

• Uses CAD system to enter the required data, such as precise measurements and commands, in order to generate designs, construction drawings, renderings, report graphics or other digital images.
• Develops, organizes and prepares a variety of highly complex layouts, drawings and designs from written or verbal specifications, or from rough or detailed sketches and/or drawings made by technical professionals, converting paper documents into computerized files.
• Produces various design options on the screen or on hard copy. May include technical professionals' verbal instructions or ideas to assist in resolving a design concept not yet completely defined.
• Provide clash detection on projects
• Review models
• Train other project staff on appropriate use of Revit
• Uses CAD to design, redesign, modify or otherwise edit existing design.
• Performs other such duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

Requirements

The appropriately qualified candidate will have the following core competencies and required experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field is preferred
• A minimum of 5 years of Revit experience
• A working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, and Bently BIM

Revit Jobs

Revit Technician
Responsibility:
Job duties include developing and preparing plans and detail drawings per Architectural Graphic Standards for projects using construction materials such as steel, concrete, masonry and wood. Create drawings from sketches, field notes, self knowledge or direct instruction. Modifying drawings from engineers redlines.

Requirement:
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in structural drafting and an Associate’s Degree in Drafting, or 4 years experience in structural drafting. Candidate must be proficient in Revit Structure, Autocad 2008 or 2009 and Microsoft Office.


CAD Technician/Field Technician
Responsibility:
The candidate will perform approximately 50% CAD Tech operations and 50% Field Technician services. The design responsibilities will pertain to building and parking lot structures. Field service responsibility will include surveys and measurements.

Requirement:
The candidate must have a minimum of three years experience in structural CAD drafting, a team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills. Knowledge of Revit Structure is a plus. Candidate must have a good general knowledge of structural engineering terminology and a sharp attention to detail.

Drafting Department Head

Have you ever wanted to do projects “the right way”, but the drafting department standards and practices were set up by someone in 1976? All of the technology in the field has changed. Engineering techniques are changing daily. Shouldn’t drafting department procedures recognize that it is 2008? Structural Modeling & Analysis is a small structural engineering company located in Midtown, Kansas City, Missouri. We are a growing company dedicated to staying on the cutting edge in regard to structural engineering practices, design techniques and standards. We provide our clients the highest quality of work. We are looking for a motivated, organized drafting department head. This person will be responsible for establishing the drafting department and developing the standards that will be in force going forward. JOB TITLE: Drafting Department Head
LOCATION: Kansas City, Missouri
EXPERIENCE: Revit Structure and at least four years of experience with AutoCAD.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an experienced Drafting Supervisor who has a minimum of:

• Five years drafting experience.
• Experience preparing Revit Structure and AutoCAD structural drawings using structural steel, reinforced concrete and masonry. Knowledge of wood and light gage metal is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other design disciplines.
• Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
Skills we are looking for include:

• Strong math aptitude and computer skills.
• Good use of English language for written and verbal communications.

• Supervise the day to day work of the drafting department in an efficient manner.
• Lead the department in developing and maintaining drafting standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering to continuously improve the constructability of Structural Modeling & Analysis’ design.
• Evaluate, train, and develop department personnel.
• Design layout and detailed documents.
• Support design efforts with timely and accurate completion of contract drawings.
• Participate in project meetings and design reviews.
• Provide input on hardware acquisitions
• Review fabricator and supporting drafting personnel drawings for conformance to design specifications and standards.
• Provide scheduling input, hour and material estimates, drawing/document control and other coordination to fulfill contract requirements.
• Interact with project team members to transmit drawings or related material.
