UNIT 3: BIM CONTRACT NEGOTIATION & RISK ALLOCATION
July 18, 2011—7:30 AM-5:00 PM
BIM Contract Negotiation and Risk Allocation is a full-day course that examines BIM and contract terminology to determine best practices for integrating BIM use into project contracts.
Hot-button issues such as standard of care, intellectual property rights, and insurance and surety bonding coverage are discussed to help participants become BIM champions within their organizations. It is assumed that all participants have had exposure to basic BIM concepts and terminology through attendance in BIM 101.
UNIT 4: BIM PROCESS, ADOPTION, & INTEGRATION
July 20, 2011—1:30-5:30 PM, July 21, 2011—7:30 AM-Noon
BIM Process, Adoption, and Integration is a full-day course that provides a foundation for participants to establish and execute the BIM process, facilitate its adoption, and achieve integration on a single project and at a company level to execute multiple BIM projects simultaneously. These tools will help establish participants as BIM champions within their organizations.
This course is developed for those who have had significant exposure to BIM tools, mechanics, theory and processes and want to learn best practices to implement it into construction projects and firms. It relies on a highly participatory learning environment including case studies, classroom discussions, and instructor-led discussions.

The mission of the BIMForum is to encourage increased collaboration to the project delivery process in the AEC industry by facilitating the adoption and use of BIM technology and processes through education and the promotion of enabling technologies and methods. www.bimforum.org

Revit Rendering on Cloud - Revit Clinic Report

June 15, 2011

Project Neon now supports Revit in addition to AutoCAD

Fotolia_3828058_XS
Project Neon is our technology preview of rendering designs using Amazon EC2 servers in cloud. I have been on the labs.neon@autodesk.com email alias for a long time. In fact, I added our first Project Neon technology preview to Autodesk Labs almost a year ago. Since that time, the number one request we have received via email is:
Can you add support for Revit files?
I am happy to announce that two days ago the Project Neon team updated their servers to provide this capability. You can learn more about it on:
Labs_neon_page
Project Neon technology preview on Autodesk Labs

To make this possible, you download a small application that uploads your building information model to the Project Neon servers. You can download this Revit add-in from the Project Neon site.
Neon_labs
http://neon.labs.autodesk.com/

So far we've heard things like:
  • "Great addition to Revit. Saves a ton of time having the rendering done on the cloud."
  • "I'm very excited about the potential of this technology to unseat SketchUp in our design department."
  • "Just toying with the plug-in for Revit and I love this! Great work."
Keep that feedback coming in to labs.neon@autodesk.com or the GetSatisfaction forum.
Responding to feedback is alive in the lab.
